Wanda Sykes, Regina Hall, & Amy Schumer To Host 2022 Academy Awards

After four years of having a hostless affair, the Academy Awards announced its 2022 edition will get not one, not two, but THREE hostesses to preside over its 94th annual ceremony.

Amy Schumer, Regina Hall, and Wanda Sykes will host the Academy Awards this year, news that was formally announced on ‘Good Morning America’ Tuesday (February 15).

The event’s first hosts since 2018, the trio of female comedic actors were tapped to take on the tall task of rescuing the broadcast from its ailing ratings – which have been reaching record-breaking lows year after year.

What’s more, the big news was accompanied by reports ‘Girls Trip’ film-maker Will Packer has signed on to produce the award show.

“I’m not sure who thought this was a good idea, but, I am hosting the Oscars along with my good friends Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall. I better go watch some movies,” Schumer said in a video message on ‘Good Morning America,’ while Sykes and Hall added in a joint statement: “We want people to get ready to have a good time. It’s been a while.”

The 2022 Academy Awards airs Sunday, March 27 on ABC.  Click here to see the full list of nominees.
